Bio

Claudia Rojas is a Salvadoran-American creative communications pro based in Falls Church, VA. She believes language can influence social shifts. Her poems are published in poetry magazines throughout the U.S. and in the anthology Here to Stay: Poetry and Prose from the Undocumented Diaspora. Claudia has a full-length poetry manuscript.

As a Refugee Storytellers Collective member and Undocupoets alumna, Claudia shares her story to advocate for human rights. She has provided press, design, and messaging expertise to nonprofits and small businesses for over 5 years.

My teaching background includes tutoring children and young adults in general English coursework and leading all-ages poetry workshops both in academic and community settings. I also taught online as a graduate assistant through COVID-19. I currently host poetry workshops independently. Curriculum work sample: Reimagine Lit/ Building Classroom Community (Aug. 2020).

Claudia holds a GED and attended 3 colleges before graduating with a Bachelor’s in English. She has a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing.
